What makes ReForest Costa Rica unique?
We provide reforestation services for those that can and want to create a renewable resource that is economically sound. We also provide ecological restoration services for those that can and want to jump-start the process of natural regeneration of the Costa Rican tropical forests. We believe the true power to change the rate of deforestation and destruction of pure water sources lies in the hands of each one of Planet Earth’s citizens. We are continually making contacts with people - farmers in Costa Rica that want to sell their farm but hope to sell it to someone who might be a good steward to the natural resources; - business people that are looking for a green, environmentally sound investment; - owners of plantations that want to share experiences or use some part of our services; - students and teachers that want to learn or teach about the environment.

What if I already own a property, will you reforest it for me? How much does it cost?
Yes we can!
Reforestation has several steps, all very important:
1. Clean-up and soil preparation – if your farm has natural grass clean-up is done once before planting. If your farm has exotic grasses like brazilian or gigante, it will take several clean-ups.
2. Design of plantation plan, ordering, and transport of trees.
3. Making sticks, holes, planting and organic fertilizing of trees.
4. Eliminating weed competition and pruning – once a month for the next 24 months after.

Remember, reforestation is a profitable long-term investment. We recommend monthly weeding and maintenance for the first three years and then every couple months until the 5th or 6th year, then several visits a year after that for prunings, thinnings, and harvest. For an extra fee, we can coordinate a regimen of visits from our forestry engineer that almost guarantees permits for culling and harvesting.
